CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Coastal Carolina’s Matt Hogue, in charge of the athletic department for the past 10 years, will move to a new role at the school this summer while former football coach Joe Moglia will give up his positions as chairman of athletics and executive director of football once the new athletic director is hired.
The school announced Friday that Hogue will lead the school’s development of a center for sports broadcasting. His last day with athletics will be July 15.
Coastal Carolina said in a statement a search for Hogue’s successor as vice president for intercollegiate athletics and university recreation will begin immediately.
Moglia has served in his roles since retiring as football coach after the 2018 season. He will remain as executive advisor to Coastal Carolina president Michael T. Benson.
Benson said Hogue had led Chanticleer athletics to new heights, going from FCS to the Sun Belt Conference. “He has witnessed first-hand the astronomical growth of our programs and overseen the most successful period of Chanticleer athletics,” he said.
